Katana is the Japanese word for sword. This masterpiece of art has been fabricated in the famous glass workshops of Murano, Venice. This solid piece of glass is molded into its final shape by hand at a temperature of 1200 degrees Celsius, which is an extremely delicate process, known to the Murano glass experts only. Monique Zegerius, a Dutch glass artist, has designed this Katana and commissioned the sword to be made in Murano, giving specific directives to the glass master. Lili B., a Dutch jewel designer had the difficult task to set the diamonds and rubies. Simple drilling in this glass is impossible, because it would shatter the glass. A very special process of high pressure water \u201cdrilling\u201d was used to attach the gold on the glass.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
