Painting is the most magical of mediums. The transcendence is truly amazing to me every time I go to a museum and I see how somebody figured another way to rub colored dirt on a flat surface and make space where there is no space or make you think of a life experience.

Why Should You Give to MDA?

Less than 3/10 of 1% of public funding goes to small, rural, cultural organizations. Small towns are losing the ability to keep their citizens educated, employed, and living the kind of life they want to live in rural America.

Museums and other cultural organizations have a role to play in creating more liveable communities, supplementing education, and preserving history.  MDA helps community museums become stronger, more economically alive, and relevant to present and future generations.

Volunteer and Make a Difference!

MDA has opportunities for volunteering for people with an adventurous spirit. Travel the state and get to know the unique and fascinating stories of New Mexico's community museums. Are you interested in...
